Why it's epic
The face of Pokémon itself, in the set that started it all in English. This is the original Pikachu card: a humble 40 HP Basic with a flip-a-coin Thunder Jolt, drawn by Mitsuhiro Arita with the cheeks already crackling. It never needed to be the strongest card in the set — it was the one every kid recognized first, and the one that made the whole game feel like home.
Attacks, as printed
Gnaw — 10. Pikachu's attack, as printed on the card.
Thunder Jolt — 30. Flip a coin. If tails, Pikachu does 10 damage to itself.
Showcase spotlight only — this card is not part of the Holo Lane collection and is never for sale here. Facts are taken from the card as printed, plus the set's established release history.
