Why it's epic
Card number one of the set that started it all in English. Alakazam sits at the very front of Base Set for a reason: the final evolution of the Abra line, a Psychic powerhouse whose brain, the card says, can outperform a supercomputer, with an intelligence quotient said to be 5000. And Damage Swap was genuinely clever — a Pokémon Power that let you slide damage counters around your own bench, bending the rules of a fight before your attack even began.
Attacks, as printed
Pokémon Power: Damage Swap. As often as you like during your turn (before your attack), you may move 1 damage counter from 1 of your Pokémon to another as long as you don't Knock Out that Pokémon. This power can't be used if Alakazam is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed.
Confuse Ray — 30. Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokémon is now Confused.
Showcase spotlight only — this card is not part of the Holo Lane collection and is never for sale here. Facts are taken from the card as printed, plus the set's established release history.
